More about the Gala
Furthermore, her latest film, *Without Blood*, is set to have its world premiere at the festival. Written, directed, and produced by Angelina Jolie, *Without Blood* is a war drama adapted from Alessandro Baricco’s novel of the same title. The film tells the compelling story of a young girl’s pursuit of vengeance and healing amidst the chaos of conflict, featuring Salma Hayek Pinault and Demián Bichir in the lead roles.
Jolie’s appearance at the festival will mark her return to TIFF, following the acclaim of her earlier projects, *First They Killed My Father*, which she both wrote and directed, and *The Breadwinner*, which she executive produced. Both films were featured selections at TIFF in 2017.
